PGA of America teams up with Omni PGA Frisco Resort for Veterans Day discounts throughout Monument Realty PGA District

FRISCO, Texas (November 7, 2024) In honor of Veterans Day, the PGA of America is offering two free PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) clinics to Veterans and Active Duty Military at the PGA of America Coaching Center powered by T-Mobile on Monday, November 11. These complementary clinics will be taught by PGA of America Golf Professionals trained in adaptive golf and military cultural competency and held inside the coaching facility in a climate-controlled environment. The first clinic will take place from 10-11 a.m., followed by a second afternoon session from 3-4 p.m.

During the one-hour clinics, participants will be guided through a series of demonstrations and hands-on exercises from properly holding a golf club  to taking a full swing. Stations within the coaching center will also teach putting and chipping techniques, as well as show Veterans how they can use golf to connect with others and foster relationships on and off the course.

PGA HOPE, the flagship military program of the PGA of America REACH Foundation, introduces golf to Veterans and Active Duty Military to enhance their physical, mental, social and emotional well-being. It is the only adaptive-golf program that has a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Department of Veterans Affairs, which enables medical staff to refer Veterans to PGA HOPE as a form of therapy.

“I’m honored to be able to support our nation’s Veterans and give them something positive to focus their attention on,” said Tim Cusick, PGA Head Coach of the PGA of America Coaching Center. “Providing an inclusive and safe environment is invaluable compared to the skills they learn. At the end of the day, it’s not about their golf game but giving back to the men and women who have served our country.”

In partnership with the Omni PGA Frisco Resort, Veterans and Active Duty Military can also receive the following discounts from Saturday, November 9 through Monday, November 11. Patrons must show a valid military I.D. to receive discounts:

• 25% off at Ice House and Lounge by Topgolf, excluding alcohol
• 20% discount at PGA Shop
• One (1) free tee time on The Swing (Monday, November 11; 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.)
  

On Saturday, November 16, the resort will host a Veteran’s Day Supercars Show Presented by Sivils Luxury in the Monument Realty PGA District from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. The event is free for the public; however, all proceeds from the Super Car registration fee of $25 per vehicle will benefit PGA HOPE.

From November 1 through the end of the year, the PGA of America REACH Foundation - the 501(c)(3) charitable foundation of the PGA of America, will launch “HOPE 4 Heroes” —a national fundraising campaign to  continue funding, and raise awareness for PGA HOPE programs that have served more than 50,000 Veterans. Restaurants throughout the PGA District will have postcards with information about how to donate, as well as information about PGA HOPE program locations throughout the DFW area. The campaign runs through December 31, 2024.
