The most historic and prestigious major championship in senior golf, the Senior PGA Championship celebrates its 85th edition in 2025 at Congressional. This will mark the first time that the Championship will be played on Congressional’s world-renowned Blue Course. Congressional previously hosted the 1976 PGA Championship won by Dave Stockton and the 2022 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship won by In Gee Chun. As part of a landmark agreement, Congressional Country Club is set to host five more PGA of America Championships in the future: the 2037 Ryder Cup, 2030 PGA Championship, 2027 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, 2033 Senior PGA Championship and 2029 PGA Professional Championship.

The Senior PGA Championship was born on the grounds of another of golf’s majors at the invitation of one of the game’s greatest players. At the suggestion of renowned amateur Bobby Jones, the inaugural Senior PGA Championship was conducted at Augusta National Golf Club in 1937, just three years after the first Masters Tournament. Past Champions include Raymond Floyd, Hale Irwin, Bernhard Langer, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Gene Sarazen, Sam Snead, Lee Trevino and Tom Watson.
